A Little About Us
Bittersweet Acres is a family-owned, small stable located right here in O'Fallon, Missouri. Since our stable opened in 1992, we've treated every customer and every horse like they were a part of our family. Other stables may offer similar services, but our services come with a personal touch.
We are located north of I-70, right off Main Street in O'Fallon. Our stable is a little slice of heaven tucked away amidst some subdivisions.
Debbie Cate, Owner
Debbie has loved horses her whole life and has been riding horses since she was a child. She has owned horses since 1989 and has trained and cared for them on her own property since 1992.
Debbie has taught 4-H Horsemanship and was project leader for her club. She has owned Quarter Horses, Morgans, Tennessee Walkers, Missouri Fox Trotters, Hanovarian, Paso Fino, and Spotted Saddehorses.
Debbie uses the Natural Horsemanship method of training. She has helped to rehabilitate rescue horses and find them new homes.
Joe and Hawk
At Bittersweet Acres, we love Missouri Fox Trotters and their smooth gaits.
Joe is our lesson horse and a Missouri Fox Trotter. He is a patient, easy going gelding. Whether you are an absolute beginner or want to work on your riding skills, Joe is ready to teach you to ride.
Hawk is also a Missouri Fox Trotter. He has lots of personality and is a lot of fun to ride.
